The $2.7 billion Parramatta Square redevelopment is one of the largest urban renewal projects in the country, revitalizing Parramatta CBD with 290,000 m2 NLA of Premium Grade office space, a multi-level retail podium and civic facilities. When complete the buildings will house 23,500 occupants.

Tower 6&8 Parramatta Square is the largest CBD commercial office building in Australia by Gross Floor Area.

McGregor played a key role in assisting principal builder, Built, to plan, design and deliver the development.
McGregor was the ‘Digital Implementation Manager’ for 6&8 Parramatta Square, responsible for overseeing model production, design coordination and clash detection.

4D models produced by McGregor were used extensively by the project team to visualise the programme and the construction methodology ahead of physical construction works. McGregor also assisted Built to manage the critical path structural steel package comprising 2,000t on building 4 and 1,800t on building 6&8.

McGregor’s scope included:

  • Structural Steel Construction Management
  • Structural Steel Tracking
  • Detailed Planning/Programming
  • 4D Construction Methodologies
  • 3D Modelling
  • BIM Management/Digital Engineering
  • 3D Design Coordination
  • Clash Detection
