Barangaroo Station

Construction of the complex Barangaroo Station, part of the Sydney Metro construction and tunnelling project required consideration of multiple stakeholders and the impact on surrounding buildings, commercial operations, rail, ferry, road, pedestrian access and waterfront operations.

McGregor was engaged by John Holland to produce a detailed 4D construction methodology for the project to assist with:

• Constructability review
• Construction planning
• Programming
• Logistics & access management
• Cost estimation

McGregor’s role included:

• Assessing and modelling construction staging, access and logistics
• Detailed due diligence on the construction programme
• Creation of an animation demonstrating constructability of high-risk elements of the project

A key requirement of the brief was to keep Hickson Road open to traffic at all times during construction.

McGregor brought together design and constructability input to create a model showing how this high-risk element of the Sydney Metro project will be constructed.
