Constructability

Constructability (also referred to as Buildability) is the process of assessing all elements of a development or infrastructure project prior to construction, with the goal of identifying risks and problems and addressing these during the planning and design stage.

Identifying potential issues prior to construction allows consideration and rectification of problems in the early stages of a project, avoiding delays and variations during construction.

It is critical that construction professionals who can draw on broad experience undertake Constructability reviews, so they can effectively identify potential challenges, and propose efficient solutions.

4D Construction Animation and 4D Programming is a key element of Constructability review as it allows visualisation of all elements of the planned project more effectively than a GANTT chart alone.

McGregor draws on the deep construction experience of its team to undertake Constructability reviews and provide Constructability advice for development projects.
